Valve, Globe, Control

Definition A regulating valve for restricting or manipulating the volume or rate of flow in a specifically controlled manner, whereby the flow or pressure control component is in the form of an adjustable Plug-type (or similar) element and stationary ring seat arrangement, contained in a generally spherical body and orientated in a transverse direction to the flow. Although Control Globe Valves are able to close off flow completely, their main design purpose is for flow management and not for isolation.
