The project was concerned with the use of ISO TC184/SC4 standards to integrate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data with product design data. LCA data defined by ISO 14048 "Life cycle assessment - Data documentation format" was represented using:
- an extension to the ontology defined in PCA's RDS based on ISO 15926 ; and
- OWL (Web Ontology Language) serialised as XML.
The work was validated by a Round Robin example of a packaging Box provided by Rolls-Royce.
